Augustana College Prof Murray Haar is trying to block my talks in South Dakota

Apparently, Dr. Murray Haar, chairperson of the Religion, Philosophy, and Classics Departments at Augustana College in South Dakota, is trying to pressure colleges to cancel my upcoming lectures on Israel, Palestine, and America.

He is also, it appears, trying to pressure the media not to cover them.

It's so sad to see academics without academic principles.

Those who suffer most are the students who should be learning from scholars committed to learning, knowledge, and free academic inquiry.

It's truly unfortunate when their professors are partisans who attempt to abuse their power, and whose actions demonstrate a profound lack of principle.

According to his departmental profile, Dr. Haar "teaches courses dealing with the holocaust, Judaism and Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism, religion, violence, courage, and evil. He also teaches Hebrew and Jewish philosophy. Haar has taken students to Israel and India. He has published a number of articles and given a variety of papers dealing with Israel and the holocaust."

It appears that Prof. Haar has succceeded in preventing a lecture by me at Augustana College. I suspect he worries that in a "free marketplace of ideas," the facts I present would trump the fallacies he prefers.

I hope Augustana students will learn of my other presentations in South Dakota and attend one. I will welcome their presence, their courage in listening to a presentation on a topic of great importance, their challenging questions, and their own independent research into the subject.

Perhaps they will be able to teach Dr. Haar that's what college is supposed to be about.

You are absolute scum Alison Weir, a pathetic piece of sh%+ actually. You pale in comparison to the accomplishments of Dr. Haar, for he is an ACTUAL scholar with factual knowledge based in scholarship and texts instead of your paranoid-schizophrenic-like views and theories you hold which are only matched by the radical hard liners on the Palestinian side whom also hold views of denial of the holocaust, a call for the destruction of Israel and its Jewish inhabitants and aggressively targeting innocent civilian populations in and outside of Israel (ex. Syria). You are neither an intellectual nor do you contribute anything positive to the Israeli/Arab conflict other than lies and once again, paranoiac theories. Also, if you are going to call out Dr. Haar's beliefs to be fallacies then you better damn well explain why they are so; you are not allowed to cite anything from your personal experience, what you saw on your small journey in Israel and MOST CERTAINLY NOT your completely biased "research" on the findings of the distortion of the American media.

This comment will probably never make it to your website because bluntly exposes the truth and because ultimately you are a coward. So, if you claim to be a fair promoter of the freedom of ideas in the marketplace for people, especially students, then you will approve this comment and let the talk begin.

Whether you line it or not, your visit to the College of Charleston, although hostile and at times rude on our part, was a complete win for the cause and ideals you so blatantly oppose, either explicitly or in quietly in your consciousness hidden from your critics because revealing so would certainly disqualify you from this political realm/debate and possibly even as a living human being.
